The BET Award for Best Group is given to the overall best R&B, hip hop, or gospel group who has released an album the previous or same year. As of 2007, Mary Mary has been the only gospel group to be nominated for this award. A group can be a duo (Gnarls Barkley, Mary Mary, New Boyz) or have at least 3 members (Pretty Ricky, Destiny's Child). Mary Mary, OutKast and Destiny's Child have received the most nominations ever for the BET Award for Best Group, having four each.
